Racing families do everything a little faster and a little funner. Even home fire drills. Welcome to the Home Fire Drill 120, the 120-seconds-or-less race out of the house families should practice at least once a year.

For Home Fire Drill Day 2018, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy teamed up with Make Safe Happen, Nationwide’s child safety initiative, to remind families to make home fire escape plans and practice them.  

Story corner: These videos weren’t supposed to exist. We sneaked them into a two-hour PR shoot. The Earnhardts are total pros — we got our 3 videos in 4 takes. As a personal victory, I finally got the confetti canon that I wrote into scripts for several years.

Make Safe Happen also partnered with Ad Council for a radio ad on the importance on preparing in case of a home fire drill.
